Alicia Eva moves to GWS from Collingwood in three-way trade

COLLINGWOOD star Alicia Eva has become the second big name to leave the club during the AFLW trade period, but it’s not all bad for the Pies.

AFLW star Cat Phillips: 'We umpire ourselves'

COLLINGWOOD star Alicia Eva has become the second big name to leave the club during the AFLW trade period.

But it’s not all bad for the Pies, with Western Bulldogs dynamo Jaimee Lambert joining the club.

Lambert’s move was a surprise on Tuesday as a three-way trade emerged between Collingwood, GWS and the Western Bulldogs.

TRADE TIME: EVERY AFLW OFF-SEASON MOVE

The Pies landed former Bulldog Lambert in the exchange that saw GWS gain the services of Eva — runner-up in Collingwood’s best and fairest.

The Pies exchanged Eva and pick 5 to GWS, who in return handed over picks 1 and 9.

Collingwood then on-traded picks 1, 4 and 12 to the Bulldogs in exchange for Lambert and pick 3.

GWS chief operating officer James Avery said Eva — who is experienced in coaching women’s football — won’t only be contributing on the field.

“We’re delighted to secure a player of the quality of Alicia, both on and off the field,” he said.

“She brings class and experience to our group on field and importantly her character and leadership off the field will help guide our side, who are young in terms of their football careers.

“It’s a great endorsement of our program to have another player of this quality making the move to Sydney.”

Eva — who finished second in Collingwood’s inaugural best and fairest — is the second big name to depart the Holden Centre this AFLW off-season, with the club’s first women’s best and fairest winner Nicola Stevens last week traded to Carlton.
