AFLW team selection Round 5: Brianna Davey and Katie Brennan to miss must-win clash

CARLTON and Western Bulldogs will be without marquee stars in their must-win clash, while Adelaide and Brisbane have made one change each for their Saturday night blockbuster.

CARLTON and Western Bulldogs will be without marquee players Brianna Davey and Katie Brennan respectively again this weekend after both weren’t named in selected sides.

Davey (back) missed the Blues’ crucial clash against Adelaide and her run and carry across halfback and through the midfield was sorely missed.

Interestingly though, Davey has been named as an emergency for Carlton’s must-win clash against the Bulldogs.

The defender last weekend said she was hopeful of a return this week despite initially being expected to miss two games.

Brennan was a late withdrawal from the Bulldogs’ clash against the Magpies after failing a fitness test last Saturday morning.

This will be the third game the star forward misses with an ankle injury.

The Crows and Lions have both regained players from injury for Saturday night’s top-of-the-table clash at Norwood Oval.
