WEST COAST CIRCLING WA TIGER

Fremantle has recently lured a number of home grown talents back to Western Australia and West Coast is looking to do the same.

In the Eagles’ sights is Richmond young gun Shai Bolton, the 20-year-old who’s played 16 games this season.

Bolton is out of contact at the end of 2019, with Tom Browne telling Channel 7 the 20-year-old had a big decision to make regarding his future.

“Richmond have made a good offer and there’s every chance Bolton could still sign it,” Browne said.

“West Coast have made a major, major play. Bolton’s from Perth. The attractiveness of West Coast’s offer … it could be good for family reasons.”

CROWS DEFENDER COULD BE ON THE MOVE

Rory Laird is contracted until the end of 2021, but the star defender could play for another team next season, says Adelaide great Andrew Jarman.

Jarman suggested Adelaide’s disastrous past two seasons could render the club “vulnerable” to losing Laird.

“Vultures have left their nest. He would be a very good pick up with one of these powerhouse, Essendon, Hawthorn-type clubs,” Jarman told Triple M.

“I don’t know what his situation is. But all I’m saying is that those smart clubs, they hand pick three or four of the best ones. And he’s on that list.”

Laird has played 143 games since being recruited with Pick 86 in the 2013 draft.

CASHED UP BLUES IN THE MIX FOR STAR MIDFIELDER

Carlton wants to add another onballer to join the likes of Patrick Cripps and Sam Walsh in its midfield and will seek to do just that when the trade period begins.

Unperturbed by missing out on Stephen Coniglio, who signed a mega seven-year deal with the Giants, the Blues are confident they’ll land a big fish.

But as Damian Barrett told Triple M, it’s unclear who the club is targeting.

“It’ll be another midfielder of repute,” Barrett said.

“They’re probably gonna have to go to the contracted player status. It won’t be out of the blue for that person and his management.

“I don’t claim to know who he is. They were all in on Coniglio and nearly got there.”
