PHARRELL Williams appeared on today’s Oscars red carpet without his usual oversized hat — but he had another fashion surprise up his sleeve.

BAD news for Pharrell Williams hat-watchers: the award-winning singer and producer has left his lucky oversized Vivienne Westwood mountain hat at home for today’s 2014 Oscar Awards.

Williams, who will perform his Oscar-nominated number one hit Happy at the awards, has set tongues wagging with another bold look: he rocked shorts on the red carpet.
