Pharrell Williams' gigantic Grammys hat is kind of a big deal

IT WAS the Grammys moment that had everyone talking this year - not who won what, or even who gave a stellar performance, but Pharrell Williams' mammoth hat.

The super stylish music producer stepped onto the red carpet at the awards ceremony sporting the almost comical headgear and instantly stole the show.

Williams, who went on to win an award for producer of the year, teamed the perplexing topper with a red and white Adidias bomber jacket and jeans, shunning the formal dress code.

News_Image_File: Pharrell Williams even kept the hat on when he took the stage to present an award with Anna Kendrick.

The novelty-sized hat was such a hit that it inspired its very own Twitter handle (@Pharrellhat) within minutes of its debut.

Believe it or not, the fashion accessory is actually a vintage Vivienne Westwood number from the designer's 1982-1983 Buffalo collection.

The trendsetter unveiled the now-infamous hat on Instagram last week.
