Tomorrow officially marks the beginning of the Top End Wet Season.

It is that time of the year again when the rain will soon begin to set in and our road conditions will imminently change.

We have all been there when you have planned out your road trip to a tee, you have packed the car with your methodically crafted road trip playlist on, and before you know it you have come face-to-face with a flooded crossing.

Cue the change of plans.

Do you chance it and see if you have the skills and the vehicle to cross through?

Or do you decide there is too much of a risk and plan an alternative route or location?

The nerves and frustration tend to kick in right about now and all you want to do is get to your destination to kick back, relax and maybe even cast a line.

But you have been caught out.

If only you checked Road Report NT.

The service provides up to date information on road conditions in the Territory including flooding, impassable roads, road closures, vehicle type requirements and weight restrictions.

Road Report NT is available online via roadreport.nt.gov.au, on Facebook, via the app store and on 1800 246 199.

Don’t get caught out this Wet Season, make sure you Check. Plan. Go.
