A Territory-based training provider was recognised as the gold standard in the country after picking up a major gong at the 2023 Australian Training Awards.

The Institute of Skills and Training Australia, which is based in Darwin, won the gold award for the Small Training Provider of the Year.

ISTA triumphed over other providers from South Australia and Western Australia at the November 17 ceremony in Hobart.

The provider, which prides itself on delivering high quality training for various styles of learning, previously won at the 2023 NT Training Awards, before being short-listed for the national awards.

Chief executive Kathryn Stenson said she and the company were “thrilled” to have won the prestigious award.

“It is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our small yet extremely passionate team, and the quality of training we provide to our students and the employers we work with,” she said.

The Australian Training Awards are the peak national awards for the vocational education and training (VET) sector, recognising individuals, businesses, and registered training organisations.
