A PRETTY teen was left so self conscious about her debilitating acne that she created a YouTube clip to help other chronic sufferers with clever make up tips to conceal the condition.

Canadian Elaine Mokk appears in the clip, which runs for more than two minutes, to show people who suffer chronic acne they are not alone.

In the clip which has had millions of views, Ms Mokk said she would rather wear expensive make up than being judged for having acne.

"I really do want to share my story with everyone because I know acne affects a lot of us and I'm not alone," she said.

"When I'm talking to someone I can see their eyes travelling on my face and then it just makes me feel really sad and I really want to cry sometimes. It makes me so insecure."

In the clip the teen starts by using a make up serum to smooth out her skin, which she applies thinly over her face.

She then moves onto a BB cream, but cautions against rubbing into the skin too hard as it can irritate the skin.

Ms Mokk then uses concealer and a setting powder, which helps hold the make up in place.

The Toronoto native reveals she has tried diets and a number of creams and lotions but her condition has only improved with a combination of anti-acne drug Accutane and the pill.
