New Xbox Kinect sensor can see what you're packing

COVER your eyes! An Xbox Kinect reviewer got more than he bargained for when he played the new console, which is so advanced it can see in gamers' undies.

THE next-generation Xbox Kinect motion sensor is an impressive piece of kit, however images showing its ability to detect your privates may be a sign it works too well.

When writer Mark Wilson of Fastco Design was testing the (ahem) unit, he could clearly see his "placket-racket flopping around", The Daily Mail reports.

He goes on to say, "'I noticed, alongside the intricacies of a hoodie and jeans - and there's no graceful way to put this - a dong."

Using sophisticated active infra-red sensors, Kinect can not only detect your heart rate and slightest facial expressions but also the minute folds, shadows and creases of clothing. This high level of accuracy therefore is able to define the outline of some of our more modest areas and leaves little to the imagination when it's displayed on the big screen.

But don't be alarmed that children will be eyewitnesses to anatomical horrors during gameplay. The graphic scenes are only obvious in the topographical mode, which is rarely used for gaming.
