Worker killed at WA gold mine

A CONTRACTOR working at gold miner Newcrest’s underground mine at Telfer in WA’s north has been killed in an accident on Friday.

A CONTRACTOR working at gold miner Newcrest’s underground mine at Telfer in Western Australia’s north has been killed in an accident on Friday.

Newcrest has temporarily ceased all operations at the mine.

“We extend our deepest condolences and support to our colleagues family, friends and the Telfer workforce at this difficult time,” Newcrest said in a statement late Friday.
