There are still 24 people linked to a Covid-19 outbreak in Perth who are yet to get tested, as the list of exposure sites continues to grow.

Western Australia recorded one new case of coronavirus overnight related to the backpacker cluster — a close contact of a recent case who is in hotel quarantine.

“Contact tracers commenced interviewing this case overnight,” WA Health said in a statement on Friday.

It brings the total number of local cases related to the outbreak to 14, including the original infected French backpacker who arrived in WA from Queensland.

WA Health has now identified 720 close contacts, with 24 yet to be tested.

There are also 1488 casual contacts, with 231 yet to be tested.

A further four cases were also recorded among returned travellers.

WA’s total number of cases is 1158, with 32 active cases.

Transport exposure sites include the Fremantle train line between Perth and Fremantle, as well as bus routes 098T from Kardinya to Fremantle, 549 from Spearwood to Fremantle, and 160T from Fremantle to Hilton.

The full list can be found here.

“Please continue to check the most up-to-date list of exposure sites online and follow the relevant testing and quarantine instructions,” Mr McGowan said.

More than 5000 tests were conducted on Thursday.
