Up Late: Ben Harvey says Dayne Brajkovich likely to join other bikie gang after being booted from Hells Angels

Heavily-tattooed bikie Dayne Brajkovich has been booted out of the Hells Angels motorcycle club but it’s unlikely he will be with his own company for long, according to Up Late host Ben Harvey.

Harvey, who as The West Australian’s chief crime reporter has covered many of the bikie’s exploits, told how Brajkovich would likely join another gang - and it would only take “one idiot” to spark a turf war.

Brajkovich — a long-time member of the club — was forced out of the gang last week following a major dispute with other senior members.

It is rumoured the 42-year-old was unhappy with some of the Hells Angels mixing with bikies from other gangs at parties.

And, as Harvey reports in Up Late, his departure wouldn’t have been without a drama of its own.

“If you’re expelled from a club it’s usually done violently,” Harvey said.

“I don’t know the circumstances of Brajkovich’s departure but it would have been a willing affair. The guy’s got the word ‘hate’ tattooed on his face.

“He put Nick Martin on his arse in that fight at the Sandbar and didn’t flinch when his home in Ascot was sprayed with bullets a few months later.”

Harvey told how it was virtually unheard of for bikies to stay unattached to gangs and expected Brajkovich would be no different.

“The guys make so many enemies they can’t survive alone, they need the protection of a gang,” he said.

“The rule is if you bring in money, a club will take you on. If someone does pick Dayne up, they’re going to hope the Hell’s Angels forgive and forget.”

Previous bikie gang defections have resulted in huge brawls between gangs so the potential for more violence is well and truly on the card.

“Ten years ago when Mercanti joined the Finks after being booted out of the (Coffin) Cheaters, it was all out war.

“Ten years before that, when Kevin ‘Mad Mick’ Woodhouse defected from the Deroes to the Cheaters, there was a year-long battle and blood on the streets,” Harvey said.
