Rivervale home invasion: Cops issue plea for help after woman assaulted

A 15-year-old boy has been taken into custody following a violent burglary in which a woman was allegedly assaulted by an unknown male intruder.

A 15-year-old boy has been taken into custody after a woman was robbed and left with serious injuries following a home invasion on Friday night.

The incident happened at about 9.15pm when an unknown male allegedly broke into the home on Fitzroy Rd, Rivervale in Perth’s inner-east

The woman, aged in her 40s, was allegedly assaulted before the male fled the home taking a mobile phone and car keys.

Paramedics from St John Ambulance were also called to the Fitzroy Rd home, with the woman taken to Royal Perth Hospital.

She was treated for serious but not life-threatening injuries.

Police later recovered the stolen phone at an address on Armadale Rd, Rivervale at about 1.05am.

The two homes sit on parallel streets.

Earlier on Saturday, investigators released a photo of a male caught on CCTV cameras, calling on the person to come forward and help assist police with their inquiries.

A 15-year-old teen was later taken into custody in relation to the incident.

As it stands, no charges have been laid.
