Couple arrested after threats in WA siege
A five-hour siege — which had a Perth suburb in lockdown — has ended and a couple has been taken into custody after allegedly making threats.
A couple has been taken into custody after allegedly making threats during a siege in Perth that lasted five hours.
Heavily armed officers were called to a home on Douglas Road in Martin about 9am on Monday to assist another agency when the couple allegedly made the threats.
The surrounding area was cordoned off for public safety, with the tactical response group, paramedics and firefighters sent to the scene. The siege ended about 2.30pm when the pair was taken into custody and the woman was assessed by paramedics.

The Department of Fire and Emergency Services’ Hazmat unit, paramedics and firefighters were on standby.
