Plane’s landing gear collapses forcing terrifying emergency landing
Passengers have told of their terrifying ordeal after a plane’s landing gear failed, forcing an emergency landing at Perth Airport.
Passengers are celebrating being back on firm ground after a knife-edge landing at Perth Airport where a plane’s landing gear failed.
The light aircraft was carrying 10 FIFO workers from Rothsay Gold Mine in the Western Australia’s mid-west, Nine News reported.
None of the 11 people on board, including the pilot, were seriously injured.
Perth Airport confirmed the twin turbo prop aircraft made an emergency landing and said none of the airport’s other runways were affected.
“It‘s understood the landing gear collapsed but a safe landing was completed,” an airport spokesperson said.
One of the passengers told Nine the pilot had done an “amazing” job in what was a terrifying situation.
“Yeah I was panicking, most of the guys were,” the passenger said.
“It was pretty scary. The main thing is we‘re safe.
“The pilot did really well.”
