Semi-professional basketball player questioned after body found in Perth home
A woman’s body has been found in a Perth home after a blaze and police are now speaking with a semi-professional basketball player.
A woman has been found dead after a blaze at a suburban Perth home and police are now questioning a semi-professional basketball player.
The woman, aged in her 30s, was found at a house on Ravenscar Street in Doubleview about 7.15am on Saturday after a fire broke out at the property.
Her death is being treated as suspicious, the WA Police Force confirmed.
Police said they wanted to speak to Chudier Thowath Pal, who might have been riding a push scooter and be able to assist with their inquiries.
Later on Saturday, police said the 29-year-old had been taken into custody.
No charges have been laid.
Detectives have asked people to share CCTV or dashcam footage from Ravenscar Street or the surrounding area.

Mr Pal has played with NBL1 teams the Rockingham Flames and the Mandurah Magic.
He has also played college basketball in the US for the University of North Carolina.
