Man, 52, charged with alleged sexual assault of jogger during morning run in Broome

A jogger was allegedly sexually assaulted by a man while she was on her morning run in the Bilingurr area of Broome.

A man has been charged with the alleged sexual assault of a jogger on her morning run in the Bilingurr area of Broome, Western Australia.

Police allege the woman, aged in her 40s, was jogging on a track that runs alongside Gubinge Road in the Cable Beach area, near Broome, about 5.20am on Friday before the attack unfolded.

It is further alleged she approached a man walking in the opposite direction when he suddenly grabbed and sexually assaulted her.

On Saturday, Broome detectives executed a search warrant at a Cable Beach hotel room and arrested the Midland man, who had been staying in the area.

The man, 52, has been charged with three counts of aggravated sexual penetration without consent.

He appeared in Perth Magistrates Court on Saturday.
