Jem Wolfie’s message to her critics after ‘nasty’ social media comments
The former apprentice chef from the Perth Hills became the target of a number of social media users yesterday after the story of how she made her millions was published on PerthNow.
Multi-million dollar social media mogul Jem Wolfie has a blunt message for her critics: thanks for keeping me relevant.
The former apprentice chef from the Perth Hills, who yesterday ticked over the 2.6 million follower mark on Instagram, became the target of a number of social media users after the story of how she made her millions was published on PerthNow.
The derogatory tone of several comments caused Wolfie herself to fire back in the comments section, clapping back at the ‘haters’ directly and calling out those who judge her and her motivations on face value.
Speaking to PerthNow today, Wolfie said often she leaves hateful comments alone, but felt compelled to respond when things turn particularly nasty.
“My haters are some of my biggest fans. They spend a lot of time talking about me, searching my name and ghost following my moves online, as well as taking the time to write comments and tag their friends,” she said.
“They are fans in denial that’s why I’ve got love for them, too, because they are keeping me relevant and making me more money.
“One guy wrote an ‘I hate Jem Wolfie’ story. I realised later that he had messaged me a few times and was angry that I didn’t respond, so he hated me so much he made a story and tagged me.
“When people go out of their way to say nasty things, sometimes I have time to respond but the majority of the time I don’t. I sometimes ask them if they are OK, because people who write negative and shaming comments often are not happy within themselves and they comment to make themselves feel better.
“Other times I just put them in their place.”
