Indian Ocean Brewing Company on high alert as Covid-19 exposure site, joining schools, gyms, Coles, Woolworths and Ikea
The list of Covid-19 exposure sites in one state has been expanded after a man at a pub became infected after only ‘fleeting contact’ with a confirmed case.
The list of Covid-19 exposure sites in Perth has been expanded after a man at a pub became the third person in Western Australia to contract the virus.
Perth and the Peel region were plunged into a four-day lockdown on Monday night when Premier Mark McGowan called an urgent 8pm press conference.
He said the man, aged in his 30s, had “only fleeting contact” with a physiotherapist, who had contracted the Delta strain of Covid-19 at the Lyfe Cafe in Bondi and unknowingly brought the virus home.
That woman also inadvertently spread the virus to another woman at a gym, but again had minimal contact with her.
In a social media post on Monday night, the Indian Ocean Brewing Company said the ill man also worked at the venue.
“We are understandably concerned for the health of this team member and his immediate family, as well as the rest of our team, our valuable customers and for the general public health,” they wrote.
“Following the lockdown, a commercial deep clean of the property will be conducted by a qualified contractor.
“The Marina Mindarie and Indian Ocean Brewing Co have contact tracing in place, have followed all proper hygiene rules within the venue, and continue to adhere to all public health directives and recommendations.”
Anyone who has visited one of the following sites during the times listed should urgently get a test and quarantine for 14 days from the date of last exposure:

They include IGA Mullaloo, Woolworths Hocking in the Wyatt Grove Shopping Centre, Mirror Park Toilets, Le Shaggy Chic Shack (cafe and dog grooming), Whitfords Brewing Company, Coles and Kmart at Ocean Keys Shopping Centre, and Ikea Perth.
Craigie Leisure Centre is also on that list and attendees of the 8.30am spin class on June 27 are considered close contacts who must get tested and quarantine for 14 days.
At Connolly Primary School, the Year 5 class and high risk contacts have been identified.
The school, along with Burbridge School and Koondoola Primary School, will remain closed on Tuesday.
Koondoola Primary School principal Ian Ralph posted on social media that health authorities would advise when it was possible to reopen the school.
“Until Health advises us our school is safe to reopen, staff and students are not allowed on site,” he said.
“The staff and I have been incredibly grateful for the calm and compassionate manner in which the Koondoola Primary School community has responded to this.”
