A TEENAGER has been accused of stabbing a woman five times before robbing her as she walked from a Perth train station.

The 27-year-old is in a serious but stable condition in Royal Perth Hospital after she was attacked at about 9.20pm on Saturday as she left Claisebrook train station.

Two guards from the station called triple-0 and stayed with the seriously injured woman until police and paramedics arrived.

Residents heard the woman banging on windows and frantically calling for help after the attack. The boy tried to leave the scene on a bike, but only made it 250m before he was arrested.

Joanne McBeath told 9 News she heard the boy saying he was “sorry”.

“He was screaming that he was sorry and he didn’t know what he was doing,” she said.

A 15-year-old boy is due to appear in Perth Children’s Court on Monday, charged with aggravated armed robbery and grievous bodily harm.

The woman underwent surgery yesterday for her wounds at Royal Perth Hospital and is in a serious but stable condition early today.
