A man’s body has been found in a Perth house fire, with the arson squad taking over the investigation into the blaze.
Emergency services were alerted to the fire on Mariner Place in Cooloongup just after 6am on Thursday, and the blaze was extinguished within the hour.
The body has not been formally identified but his next of kin have been informed, a police spokeswoman told NCA NewsWire.
He is reportedly a 51-year-old man who lived at the home.
Some dogs were also found at the property and have been taken away.
