Virgin Australia chief executive Jane Hrdlicka has sold her Hawthorn mansion for an eight-figure sum more than a year after putting it on the market.

The circa-1886 house named Crossakiel at 26 Kooyongkoot Rd was listed with a $17m-$18m asking range.

Forbes Global Properties’ Robert Fletcher declined to comment on the sold price but industry sources put it in the vicinity of $17m.

Also the Tennis Australia CEO, Ms Hrdlicka originally put her abode up for sale in May last year with a $18m-$19m price guide, but it failed to sell within a 132-day time frame, property records show.

The property was withdrawn from sale while Ms Hrdlicka’s husband Jason Gaudin continued to battle the cancer that he was diagnosed with in 2019. Sadly, he died in May.

Crossakiel was relisted earlier this year with a new agent, Forbes Global Properties’ Robert Fletcher, in partnership with the buyers’ advocacy group James Buy Sell.

Mr Fletcher declined to comment on the price but said the property, featuring a tennis court and pool, attracted inquiries from local, interstate and international buyers, particularly those based in the US.

“The interested parties understand it’s a very special house in the Scotch Hill precinct of Hawthorn and so warranted a good level of inspection,” Mr Fletcher said.

Set on 2097sq m, the Victorian-era pad boasts a billiards room, basement wine cellar and tasting room, formal living room, home office and marble fireplaces.

A tessellated veranda, arched reception hall and leadlight windows are reminders of its history.

Upstairs, the main bedroom suite includes a designer fireplace and balcony.

Public records show Ms Hrdlicka purchased Crossakiel for $13.3m in 2016.
