Luma Research chief executive Ms Joubert said her home offered a 180-degree view of the Yarra River, Como Park and Toorak Hill which was amazing.

“You even get a view from the garage,” she said.

“You are in this very private little cul-de-sac; you can’t believe you can be in Chapel St in five minutes.

“It’s the quiet little community up from the top of the street which is a bit of a secret.”

The home was originally designed in 1980 by then prominent architect Graeme Gunn AM.

She added that what she adored most about the home was its flexible floorplan, which Mr Joubert reimagined after they purchased the digs.

“We renovated it in the last seven years when we moved in and just extended it, made more bedrooms and added a trampoline and a deck and just made it bigger, really for our three kids,” she said.

“We’ve had art exhibitions in it. We’ve had lots of parties. But then it’s also a really warm family home.”

Now they are looking to downsize as their three children have moved out, but plan to find something in the same suburb.

Property records show the pair purchased the South Yarra pad in 2011 for $3.011m.

Marshall White Stonnington associate director James McCormack said the property was in a very unknown position for those that didn’t know South Yarra well.

“When you get up there, you’re in a very tranquil, quiet location that is very unlike being in South Yarra,” Mr McCormack said.
