South Australia responds to Dan Andrews’ insult
Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews insulted South Australians this morning. Their own Premier Steven Marshall has hit back in spectacular fashion.
Daniel Andrews insulted South Australians this morning when he asked a reporter at his press conference: “Why would you wanna go to South Australia?”
The Victorian Premier was responding to a question about whether SA should open its border to Victoria amid fears of a spread of coronavirus.
A decision was made earlier to open borders between SA and Western Australia as well as SA and the Northern Territory.
“What do you make of South Australia opening its borders to several other states but not Victoria?” he was asked.
His response?
“I don’t want to be offensive to South Australians but why would you wanna go there? Holiday here. The best experiences in our nation are right here in Victoria.”
He went on to say that Victorians should take advantage of everything Victoria has to offer.
“Go skiing, go to the wine country, go to the beach, whatever it might be. Victorians I think will be very keen to be close to home this weekend. It will be good for jobs, particularly a shout out to bushfire-affected communities,” the Premier said.
It did not go down well with South Australians. Many hit back on social media.

Dan Andrews' comment about how South Australia sucks is funny, but right now, during *multiple* health and economic crises, he needs to stay focussed on important things like how NSW sucks.

But the best response came from SA Premier Steven Marshall who shared a video showing exactly why people should visit.
@DanielAndrewsMP asked why anyone would want to go to South Australia.

South Australian paper The Advertiserhas even joined in on the fun, with an article titled: “Daniel Andrews, scandal-ridden Premier of virus-plagued Victoria sledges South Australia”.
The piece, which describes Victoria as the “Australian state with the gloomiest weather, worst virus outbreaks and most overrated coffee”, asks readers where they’d rather be.
Mr Andrews told reporters this morning that Victorians shouldn’t “get too stressed they won’t let you into Adelaide”.
Asked about those Victorians with family across the border, Mr Andrews said “I can’t control that”.
“What I can say is we have the virus presenting differently here, we are taking steps,” he said.
“It is terrific news for them that they have it under control but we are a different place at the virus has presented differently here and we will only do things that are safe.
“And I am sure that the South Australian government are absolutely motivated by the same things. If they are taking a cautious approach, as we are, I am not going to criticise that. I’m just making the point that the best July school holiday is here in Victoria.”
