A far-right activist has launched a verbal tirade at elected members after storming a council meeting and demanding to speak to them over a controversial presentation at a local school.

United Patriots Front founder Neil Erikson uploaded a video of himself abruptly confronting Kingston City councillors in Melbourne’s southeast on Monday night as they tried to pose for a photo inside the council chambers.

The video shows Mr Erikson intimidating councillors by getting up close to their face and calling them “cowards”.

Mr Erikson claimed his actions were in response to a council youth worker reportedly labelling white, Christian males as “oppressors” during a presentation at Parkdale Secondary College last week.

The Herald Sun newspaper first revealed the youth worker told Year 11 boys to stand up if they were “white”, “male” and “Christian” and then told them they were responsible for being “privileged” and “oppressors”.

“It’s pretty funny isn’t it, if it was a Muslim kid you would have sacked her by now,” Mr Erikson said in the video.

“Why don’t you be racist to me, bully me mate.

“You f***ing cowards, you’re Marxists. Cowards mate, pick on kids.”

One councillor tried to defuse the situation by asking Mr Erikson to sit down for a couple of minutes so they could take the photo, but the far-right leader was having none of it and kept shouting.

Security guards then move into intervene, with one heard saying the police had been called and he was now “trespassing”.

Mr Erikson was then led out of the building by security.

Kingston City Council released a statement on Monday apologising for the controversial school presentation.

“Council is deeply sorry that a recent diversity and inclusion session delivered by Kingston Youth Services at Parkdale Secondary College has caused hurt and anguish to students and parents,” it said.

“It is clear the program had the opposite impact to what was intended, and we understand the serious concern of the school and wider community.

“Please be assured we are investigating this as a matter of urgency and will take measures to ensure this can never happen again.”
