Police search house in relation to Albert Pisani’s murder
POLICE have discovered new information that could lead them closer to cracking a cold case that happened almost 30 years ago.
NEW evidence is expected to be uncovered today, leading police closer to the killer of Albert Pisani.
Mr Pisani was brutally murdered almost 30 years ago — he was last seen leaving his home in Moe in Victoria in October 1986.
A year later he was found in a shallow grave in bushland near Driftfield.
Victoria’s Missing Person Squad is now searching a property in Prince Street in Moe. The search started this morning at Mr Pisani’s previous address.
Police say investigations have led them to the home and believe he was murdered at the property.
The house will undergo forensic examinations today and police believe further evidence will be collected from the property.
Last month police announced a $1 million reward for anybody who could lead police to Mr Pisani’s killer.
Police have previously said they were not aware of any motive behind Mr Pisani’s murder but have received further information that he was involved in a dispute at his workplace, the State Electricity Commission Briquette Factory in Morwell, in the days leading up to his disappearance.
An anonymous caller contacted detectives in relation to the murder and police are urging them to call Crime Stoppers or contact them again.
The caller gave credible details on how Mr Pisani’s body was disposed of and investigators
believe he may have further information.
Mr Pisani’s younger sister, Carol Ward, spoke out last month about her brother’s killer still being on the loose.
“It’s been very difficult and we’ve been struggling with it and dealing with what happened and where it happened,” she said.
Anybody with information about Mr Pisani’s dispute should contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential report to www.crimestoppersvic.com.au.
