A young Aussie’s life has been cut short following a “tragic accident” overseas.
An Australian family are grieving after a young tradie died in a “tragic accident” overseas.
Joel Paredes, a former member of the Victoria’s Warragul Industrials Football Club, nicknamed the Dusties, had his life cut short in an “unexpected” tragedy, leaving his family to raise funds to bring him home.
“Due to a tragic accident overseas, we lost our beautiful cousin,” Paredes’ cousin, Felicity Paredes, wrote in a GoFundMe.
“Given the unexpected nature of this tragedy, the financial burden of bringing Joel home and supporting our family during this difficult time is overwhelming, and any assistance would be deeply appreciated.”
The family have not released further information on the cause of death.
Ms Paredes said her cousin, a plumber from the outer Melbourne suburb of Pakenham, positively impacted the lives of those around him.
“We are in awe of how many lives Joel touched,” she wrote.
“I think we can all agree we will miss that beautiful, cheeky smile of his that lit up every room he walked into.”
Over $30,000 has been raised at the time of publication.
Warragul Industrials Football Netball Club paid tribute to Mr Paredes in a post on social media this week.

St Mary’s Football Club in Darwin also expressed sincere condolences to Mr Paredes’ family.
