A woman is fighting for life after a horror crash in rural Victoria.

Two cars collided at the intersection of the Murray Valley Hwy and Hogans Rd in Yarrawonga, about three hours north of Melbourne, shortly after 11am on Saturday morning.

Ambulance Victoria confirmed to NCA NewsWire that a woman, who is understood to be in her 80s, is in a critical condition while confirming an air ambulance had been dispatched.

“Paramedics were called to a report of a collision in Yarrawonga around 11.30am,” an Ambulance Victoria spokesperson said.

“Three people are being treated at the scene,” they said.

“A man believed to be in his 80s is in a stable condition and being treated for lacerations.”

“A woman believed to be in her 80s appears to be in a critical condition at this stage.

“Another person is being treated at the scene. An air ambulance has been dispatched. We have no further details at this stage.”

Victoria Police did not provide a comment.
