Two people have died in a horror Easter Sunday crash while riding an allegedly stolen motorbike.

Two people have died in a horror Easter Sunday motorbike crash in Melbourne’s outer north.

The crash happened about 12.50pm in the suburb of Thomastown, with emergency services rushing to High Street on reports a motorbike had collided with a car.

“The motorbike rider and their pillion passenger, who are yet to be formally identified, died at the scene,” Victoria Police said on Sunday afternoon.

“The occupants of the car did not sustain any serious injuries.”

The police said checks on the motorbike showed it had been stolen outside a Gale Street address in Brunswick East on April 14.

“The exact circumstances surrounding the collision are yet to be determined and investigations remain ongoing,” the police said.

“Investigators are particularly interested in any dashcam footage that captures the motorbike, which is a black and red BMW that had no registration plates, in the lead up to the collision.”
