A couple in east Melbourne have filmed their altercation with police after having their car impounded following a breath test that they refused.

The police claimed the man, David, had refused to take a breath test and then requested his car keys.

But Trish, David’s partner who was filming the altercation, accused the officers of working for an “illegal corporate government” and went on a tirade about the spending of taxpayer dollars.

The couple argued with the police as they moved to detain their car, with Trish claiming that David never physically touched anyone while questioning the legitimacy of the breath test request.

During the row, police questioned the couple’s “smart cities” sticker on their car, with the woman explaining that the “Freemason government” and illegal councils were planning to restrict the public’s movement to 15-minute perimeters.

“David never hit anybody, never physically touched anybody, just refused - no, they say he refused to do a breathalyser,” the woman said.

“You don’t know about the smart cities? You better look into the council website and find out about it. They gate everything off in a 15-minute perimeter and you’re not allowed in or out of it,” she told the officers.

The woman’s rant included claims that the police were working for an “illegal corporate government”.

The couple threatened to sue the police for damages to their car and criticised the use of taxpayer money for a breathalyser test.

The woman also questioned the authority behind the law requiring a breath test, with the officers explaining it was Victoria’s law.

“Whose law?” she asked the officers.

“It’s Victoria’s law,” the officer replied.

“Victoria, Victoria who?” Trish said.

“The state of Victoria,” the officer said.

“Are you saying the government, the illegal corporate government?” she asked.

“It’s the Road Safety Act, it’s legislation,” the officer said.

“Road safety legislation? Leg-lie-slation,” Trish said.

When the tow truck arrived, the couple resisted, claiming it was theft, and demanded a business card from one of the officers.

The man refused to move, prompting three officers to physically move him off the road.

“Leave him alone. You’re standing on our property, get off it,” the woman shouted.

“Don’t touch me. Touch me and I’ll put your jaw through the back of your f***ing head,” the man told an officer.

The driver is expected to be charged with traffic-related offences.

“Police attended an address in Narre Warren South on 21 December after a car drove off from a preliminary breath test site on Lynbrook Boulevard,” Victoria Police said.

“Police spoke to the occupants of the address and seized the car involved in the earlier incident.

“The driver of the car is expected to be charged on summons with a number of traffic related charges.”
