Rosedale: Young girl dead, six children injured in horror off-road buggy rollover
The six-year-old girl was airlifted to hospital after she sustained critical injuries but later died. Six other children were injured.
A six-year-old girl has died following a horror accident at a property in Gippsland.
Five girls, two boys and a man in his 30s were in an off-road buggy when it rolled in a paddock in Rosedale just after 4pm on Saturday.
A six-year-old girl was airlifted to hospital with life-threatening injuries, but died from her injuries.
A four-year-old girl was also airlifted to hospital with a serious head injury.
The other five children were assessed by paramedics and taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver was also taken to hospital.
Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives were expected to attend the scene again on Sunday to continue the investigation.
Three other people have died in road incidents over the weekend.
Premier Daniel Andrews offered his condolences to the families during his Sunday morning press conference.
“I know Victoria Police are out there doing their best, but it is for all of us to slow down,” Mr Andrews said.
“Getting where you need to go … safely, that is the main thing.”
