Melbourne truck driver dies after becoming trapped against wall
Tragedy has unfolded at one of Melbourne’s most iconic tourist hot spots this morning when a truck driver became pinned against a wall.
A truck driver has died after becoming trapped between his vehicle at the wall of a popular tourist site in Melbourne.
The incident unfolded just after 7am on Monday at Hosier Lane in the city’s CBD – a spot renowned for its graffiti art and nearby cafes and bars.
Police said help arrived about 7.15am following reports a man had been trapped.
The driver could not be saved and died at the scene.
As of Monday afternoon, he had yet to be formally identified.
The devastating incident is now subject to a WorkSafe investigation.
Police are continuing investigations into what exactly unfolded prior to the death.
The matter is not being treated as suspicious.
