Road rage on St Kilda Road

THIS is the shocking moment a woman was subjected to a terrifying road rage attack in Melbourne.

Tammi Bourke told 3AW’s Neil Mitchell she was threatened in a confrontation this morning while on her way to work.

Footage of the incident shows a man allegedly abusing the woman and holding a fist to her face as she can be heard saying “please don’t hit me”.

The incident — which Ms Bourke said began on Kings Way and ended up on St Kilda Road just south of the city, is currently being investigated by police.

The man can be heard saying: “Put your phone away now, put your f***ing phone away.”

Ms Bourke claimed the man cut her off and she threw up her hands in frustration. “I put my hands up in the air … he didn’t like that,” Ms Bourke said.

“He then got out of the car, smacked my windscreen with his hand and spat all over it.”

In a statement given to news.com.au, police confirmed they were called to an incident on St Kilda Road about 9.15am.

Police said a male driver verbally abused and threatened a female motorist and he got out of his car on at least four different occasions.

“Police have reviewed footage of the incident and have identified a person who may be able to assist with their inquiries,” a spokeswoman said.
