Man dies after being hit by truck in Footscray
A man has died after he was struck by a truck in an inner city suburb this morning.
Police are appealing for witnesses after a pedestrian was struck and killed by a truck in Melbourne’s west on Wednesday morning.
Police said emergency services attended the intersection of Moreland and Parker Sts in the suburb of Footscray at around 10:15am following reports of a deceased person.
The man, who is yet to be identified, died at the scene, while police said the 58-year-old driver of the truck is assisting police with their inquiries.

The major collision investigation unit was en route to the scene, police said.
Ambulance Victoria confirmed paramedics attended the scene.
Wednesday’s crash is the second road death in Melbourne in 24 hours after a woman was killed when a car struck a tree in Melbourne’s south eastlast night.
Police said a female passenger sustained critical injuries when a Holden Captiva hit a kerb before striking a tree on Glen Tower Dr, Glen Waverley, shortly after 7pm.
She later died in hospital.
Police said the male driver sustained serious injuries and was taken to hospital under police guard.
