Family dog mauls woman in Wangaratta
A woman who was mauled by a family dog in Victoria’s north is refusing to speak to police about what happened.
A family dog mauled a woman after an incident outside a property in Victoria’s northeast overnight.
A 43-year-old woman was taken to hospital after emergency services were called to a Cribbes Road property about 3.20am on Saturday, Victoria Police said.
“The women and other occupants of the house at the time were bitten by their family dog after a disturbance out the front of the property,” a police spokeswoman said.
The woman was bitten in the arm and taken to North East Health for additional treatment.
A number of other people were spoken to at the seen but were “uncooperative”, police said.
The Wangaratta Council has seized the dog.
