Kim Kardashian says she is happy to live, love and learn

KIM Kardashian has learned her biggest lesson in love. "To be in a happy, healthy relationship means everything," she says.

KIM Kardashian has learned her biggest lesson in love.

"To be in a happy, healthy relationship means everything," Kardashian, 31, one of the world's highest-profile celebrities, said in Melbourne yesterday.

"It's everything when you want to share your life with someone."

For Kim, married to basketballer Kris Humphries for 72 days, that special somebody is rap superstar Kanye West.

Asked about relationships and lessons learned, Kardashian said: "We all make mistakes. Life is about learning as you go and not making the same mistakes again.

"Nobody is perfect. I don't ever try to be. I try to be responsible and honest and open."

Kardashian said love was instinctive.

"You have to trust your gut," she said.

"Happiness is everything, life is short, and you should never not be happy.

"Relationships go through different things, and that's completely normal. But you know when you're happy."

The reality TV star hinted that West had influenced her to take a deep breath and enjoy the ride.

"I've slowed down a little bit and for the better," she said.

"It was a good lesson learned. I now make it a priority to take time out for myself and have private vacations."

Kardashian said she had no regrets about her life.

"It might seem crazy, but it feels like everything in my life that has happened has been placed there to teach me something.

"I have learned from every experience, good and bad."

Kardashian is in Melbourne to spruik a diet system, QuikTrim.

But a packet of Tim Tams delivered to her hotel suite yesterday threatened to undo her good work.

"I'm obsessed with Tim Tams," she said. "The first day I got here, I ate a whole box."

She hosted an invite-only QuikTrim party at Silk Road last night and will make a public appearance at Southland Shopping Centre at 4pm today.

Late yesterday she appeared on The Project  and shopped on Chapel St at several stores, including sass & bide.

She said: "I hope to eat at good restaurants, do a little shopping and have a good time meeting people.

"Chapel St is amazing. The fashion here is great."

She leaves Melbourne tonight for the US.
