Jesinta Campbell posts first picture of wedding to Buddy Franklin

JESINTA Campbell and Buddy Franklin have tied the knot with the couple posting an intimate picture of their big day on social media.
Jesinta shared a picture of her in a long-sleeve gown with Buddy’s ring clearly showing with the caption “Mr and Mrs Franklin”. She also changed her name to Jesinta Franklin.
Buddy posted the same picture with the caption “My love”.
Wedding guests included Buddy’s former Hawks teammates Jarryd Roughead and Jordan Lewis and former Collinwood and West Coast player Sharrod Wellingham.
“This headache I have right now was worth it. What a night, thanks for sharing sucha a special occasion with us,” Jordan Lewis wrote on Instagram.
Details of the big day had been kept under wraps and took fans by surprise, but according to one guest the ceremony took place in Queenstown in New Zealand.
Despite earlier statements she would go for a simple wedding, Jesinta looked every bit the princess bride in a stunning full-skirted Vera Wang gown with cathedral veil — perhaps inspired by her front-row appearance at the label’s New York Fashion Week earlier this year.
The model made a quick change for the reception into an Ana Luisa gown which was also designed by Vera Wang and retails for around $20,000. The floor length, ivory coloured lace gown showed off Franklin’s petite figure.
The groom wore a suit by Hugo Boss.
Their sweet wedding picture received thousands of likes within minutes of being posted with fans and friends sending congratulations and love.
Earlier this week, Jesinta Campbell — who has taken the surname Franklin — told Today show host Lisa Wilkinson that the couple had no wedding plans, just a month-long holiday ahead.
“You are not going to go away and elope? You are not going to rob us of the wedding moment are you?” Wilkinson asked.
“No, for us, this year for us was focusing on health and happiness and getting through the year,” Jesinta said.
Wilkinson then asked if the wedding was still on hold, to which Jesinta replied, “Yes”.
In May, the former Miss Universe said they would keep wedding plans “very simple” and probably elope.
“It won’t be a Big Fat Greek Wedding. I’ll just come back and be Mrs Franklin and that will be it.”
The couple have been described as inspirational with their rock-solid relationship despite ups and downs.
One month ago the former Miss Universe and brand ambassador said she admired what Buddy had achieved personally “far more than any goal, milestone or win you could ever be a part of” after the Swans AFL Grand Final loss.
“I feel like we’ve won on so many different levels this year and that’s what truly matters in life. You have inspired me so much,” she said.
The couple got engaged in 2014 and were due to marry earlier but were forced to postpone after the Swans superstar took a break from the game due to mental health issues.
Jesinta described the time as “tough and challenging” but has remained supportive of her husband and a champion for mental health issues.
