Eva Longoria gives glimpse into life after quitting ‘Dystopian’ America
The US actress has lifted the lid on her new life months after she ‘escaped’ America in the wake of US President Donald Trump’s election win.
American-born actress Eva Longoria is giving the public a look at her life in Spain — three months after she ditched the US.
Longoria in November joined a growing list of celebrities that decided to bid adieu to life in America, when Donald Trump was elected to be the President.
The 49-year old was born in Texas, but lived her “whole adult life” in Los Angeles, having moved to California in her 20s to pursue a career in acting.

When Trump won the 2024 presidential election, the Desperate Housewives actress declared that she was “done” with life in “dystopian” America and was officially going to be based full time in Spain and Mexico.
At the time, the Hollywood star told Marie Claire that she’d “escaped” the country where she had lived for nearly five decades and will now reside full time with her husband, José Bastón, and their six-year-old son in their properties in Central America and Europe.
Longoria has opened the doors to her new home life abroad, giving fans a glimpse inside her Spanish property in CNN’s new series “Eva Longoria: Searching for Spain.”
The eight-part series will follow the Only Murders In The Building guest star through the birthplace of her ancestors.
“11 generations ago, one of my ancestors left Spain for The New World and a new life. 400 years later, I’m back to see how the land and its people have created one of the world’s most exciting cuisines,” she said in the trailer for the series,
In the teaser, the actress makes her way around a slew of eateries, and headed to the town of Longoria to meet her long-lost family members.
“If you can preserve your food and your recipes, then you can teach the rest of the world who you are,” she said.
Longoria plans to showcase parts of her sprawling mansion in the series as she hosts her loved ones for delicious meals.
At the time of her move, Longoria conceded that she was very “privileged” in her ability to move away from the country where she was born and raised, and where she launched her successful acting career.
“I’m privileged. I get to escape and go somewhere. Most Americans aren’t so lucky,” she said. “They are going to be stuck in this dystopian country, and my anxiety and my sadness is for them.”
