A woman has found her husband’s body in the street after he didn’t return from an evening dog walk southwest of Melbourne.

The 40-year-old man left his Western Beach Rd home, on the Geelong waterfront, about 11pm on Thursday to take his dog for a walk but never returned home.

His wife woke in a panic about 4am when she realised the dog had returned home but her husband had not.
