The city was rocked by two other fires overnight, including an apartment block in Richmond.

Officers were called to a Clark Street apartment block about 9.15pm, where it’s believed a resident set fire to his own apartment.

Four other units were damaged in the fire and a 37-year-old was arrested at the scene.

He is set to be interviewed following the fire.

There were no injuries reported in the incident, however police report several people were displaced from their homes.

Another fire broke out about 1.20am at an abandoned Patterson Lakes retirement village on Gladesville Boulevard.

The fire is being treated as suspicious and a crime scene guard has been placed on the property.

An arson chemist and detectives are set to attend the scenes on Monday morning.

Police have urged anyone with information to come forward.
