Teenager dies after alleged party assault in rural Victoria
A night out to a party has turned to tragedy following the death of a teenager who was allegedly assaulted by a group of men.
A teenager has died in hospital after being allegedly assaulted at a party in rural Victoria last month.
Jason Langhans, 17, died in hospital on Saturday after being allegedly assaulted at a party in Station Road, Tooradin, in the early hours of March 21.
His mother Carolyn Langhans paid a heartbreaking tribute to him on Facebook.
“Paul and l had our hearts broken as we watched our son Jason take his last breath,” she wrote.
“Jason you were our whole life and not a day will go by without us thinking about you and wishing you were here, we love you so much and our lives feel so empty.
“You put up a good fight but unfortunately it was your time to go and now you’re no longer in any pain.”
Police are investigating reports that a group of men became involved in an incident with the teen that led to a physical fight.
The Cranbourne North teenager was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
