Steven Samaras was arrested following the death of his wife
TAMARA Turner was taken to a hospital and later died. And now her grieving husband has been arrested in a bizarre twist.
STEVEN Samaras is the picture of a broken man.
His wife of only four months has died and his grief is what you’d expect to see from any husband.
The love of his life, Tamara Turner, was injured and taken to a hospital in Mildura, a town in northwest Victoria, on Monday. She later died from her injuries, which are unknown.
There is no suggestion that Mr Samaras injured Ms Turner.
She was truly in love with her husband, who she met on Facebook.
She even moved to Australia from Missouri in America just to be with him.
But there’s a bizarre twist to this story of love and passion.
Mr Samaras, 47, has been arrested following the death of his beloved but it remains a mystery what happened to her and why Mr Samaras was arrested.
The husband appears heartbroken, and before his arrest about 10.40am on Tuesday, he was posting tribute after tribute to his dead wife on social media, revealing the whirlwind romance they shared.
“Why God didn’t you look after my Tamara she was a one in a million, need more people like her, why take her away from me and leave me in sadness (sic),” he wrote.
In another tribute Mr Samaras said he would be with his wife in the next life.
“U didnt want to loose me and I lost you, I cant stop crying babygirl, I miss you so much, why, I dont understand my gorgeous wife, may you rest in peace and remember I’m coming with you soon life without you has no meaning my whole family and friends are shattered, what happened, I cant stop looking at your pics and poems we shared (sic),” he said.
Mr Samaras also re-posted a video he made in 2015 before Ms Turner moved to Australia.
He scribbled love notes to Ms Turner on homemade signs.
“The girl that means the most,” one read.
“But she lives 1500 miles away. Away from me.”
He also said he was nothing without her and it was hard not being able to hug or kiss her.
He revealed she would be with him in just six weeks time.
“I will finally meet her. The love of my life,” he said.
Ms Turner was just as in love with Mr Samaras as he was with her.
Last November she was looking forward to a whole new start in Australia.
“I love you and know its (sic) going to be the best feeling in the world to fall asleep and wake up every morning in your arms baby,” she said.
Mr Samaras also gushed about their future together in a Facebook post in April.
“Hope your ready baby for the next chapter to our lives, forever u will stay in my heart, loving you is a dream come true, marrying you (sic),” he said.
“My wish since young was to be a husband, I thought after all I’ve been threw it was over had no plans getting married but know I feel so inspired and greatful finding you from across the sea, who knew we would be together husband and wife, you are so precious to me, I wouldnt change a thing Tamara thank you sweetheart love you babe (sic).”
Mr Samaras said he would be with his wife soon and the fact she was dead was “killing him”.
“You have been the best thing thats (sic) happened to me, I want to die with you princess,” he said.
Ms Turner’s son Chuck Smith, who still lives in the United States, told Fairfax Media his mother was engaged within two weeks of meeting Mr Samaras.
“We were all concerned about it,” he said.
“But me and my sister wanted her to be happy. I mean, she was a 48-year-old woman, you gotta do what makes you happy.”
Mr Smith told Fairfax Media his mother and Mr Samaras were “obsessed” with each other.
Samaras is in police custody but has not been charged.
