Six teenagers arrested after police pursue allegedly stolen Mercedes
When police tried to chase an allegedly stolen Mercedes in Melbourne’s south east overnight, the teenage offenders ran from the car.
Six teenagers have been arrested after a police chase involving an allegedly stolen Mercedes in Melbourne’s south east.
The allegedly stolen black Mercedes CLA35 was observed by police on Rata Street, Wheelers Hill about 11.30pm on Saturday.
When police tried to intercept the car, three offenders ran from it.
Three males, two aged 17 and a 16-year-old, were arrested without incident.
A fourth male, aged 18, from Oakleigh South, was arrested nearby.
A 15-year-old male fled on foot and was arrested in the backyard of a nearby property on Miriam Close.
A sixth offender, aged 17, was found near the intersection of Whalley Drive and Rata Street.
Police allege the vehicle was stolen from an address in St Georges Road, Elsternwick in the early hours of Saturday morning.
All six offenders, who are from Melbourne’s south eastern suburbs, remain in custody and the investigation is ongoing.
