It is alleged the man scammed people who had posted online seeking rental properties, after which he’d collect what they thought were bond and rental payments before cutting off contact.

The man, of no fixed address himself, is accused of committing fraud across eight incidents in Victoria between 2011 and 2022.

He has also been charged with resisting arrest.

The 38-year-old has been remanded and is due to face Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, April 20.
