Police determine remains found in Melbourne carpark not human
Human remains were thought to be found in a Melbourne carpark near La Trobe University, but police have ruled out an investigation.
Police descended upon a Melbourne carpark overnight after receiving a report of potential human remains.
A member of the public reported finding the apparent remains at about 11.30pm.
Officers descended on the carpark on Plenty Road in Kingsbury, nearby La Trobe University, and launched an investigation.
The remains were taken to the coroner’s court to undergo forensic examination to determine whether they belonged to a human or an animal.
However, they were found to be not human, and police said there was no need for further investigation.
