A 30-year-old man has been arrested after a siege in Victoria that is believed to be linked to a fatal shooting at the weekend.
A NINE hour siege in Rosebud, in Melbourne’s southeast, has come to an end with a man handing himself over to police.
A 30-year-old Rosebud man, who was in the house alone, was arrested just before 7am.
A series of bangs were heard before the man was dragged outside the house.
Police had been negotiating with the man throughout the night. Officers who surrounded the home said they want to speak to the man about an “ongoing investigation”, the Nine Network reported.
An uninjured woman left the home during the night.
It’s believed the incident is connected to a fatal shooting of a 31-year-old man in Rosebud at the weekend.
The 31-year-old was shot in his friend’s car after he had just left a Father Day’s lunch on the Mornington Peninsula. He died in hospital on Monday.
Police prevented a woman from entering the house about 5.30am this morning.
Channel 7 reported she approached media and said: “He’s not the shooter.”
More to come.
