A WOMAN was found dead wrapped in a blanket last week and police hope her clothing will help identify her.

The body was found by a jogger on Friday afternoon in the carpark of a tennis club in Dallas in Melbourne’s north about 1.30pm.

Detectives on Wednesday released an image of the woman in the hope someone would be able to identify her.

She has a Middle Eastern appearance, looks to be aged in her 40s and is 158cm tall with a slim to medium build.

Police hope an item of clothing that looked like a headscarf, which was found with the body, would help identify her.

The scarf was brown and had distinctive black beading.

“It has been several days now and it’s a concern nobody has come forward to report anybody missing and we haven’t been able to identify her,” Detective Inspector Stephen Dennis said.

The woman had injuries but police can’t release information about her death at this stage.

It is also unknown how long the woman was in the carpark.

Anybody who lives in the area with CCTV footage is asked to come forward and anybody with information about the woman’s identity should contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
