Nine people have been arrested after a man was stabbed and rushed to hospital with life threatening injuries.
Nine people have been arrested after a man was allegedly stabbed during a mass fight in Melbourne’s southwest on Saturday morning.
Emergency services were called to the Mosfield Drive in Hoppers Crossing and found a 23-year-old man with life threatening injuries about 3.40am.
He was rushed to hospital in a critical condition.
Police are also investigating whether a second man who presented at a Werribee hospital with suspected stab wounds is linked to the Hoppers Crossing incident.
A 16-year old boy arrived at the hospital with serious injuries in a black Mazda CX9 about 4am.
A police spokesman said it was unclear where the second stabbing occurred.
On Saturday police were combing areas around Fraser Street Reserve and a property on Spring Street where smashed bottles and blood stained clothes were lying on a driveway.
“Investigations are ongoing into the circumstances of both incidents, which police believe are targeted at this stage,” a spokesman said.
“Detectives are working to establish whether the two incidents are linked.”
The spokesman asked anyone who witnessed the incidents or had footage or information to contact Crime Stoppers.
