Neighbours appear to urge on women who fight and damage a Melbourne home

FRIGHTENING video has emerged online of an attack on a Melbourne home, allegedly involving female gang members, who appeared to be urged on by neighbours.
The video was posted at the weekend along with the heading “Welcome to Melbourne ... Sudanese Girls Gone Wild!!”
It shows a group of women arguing in front of a home. One of the women can be seen holding, then swinging, a stick. A man takes the weapon off her and then he is attacked by the women as at least two separate fights erupt.
The women then take their anger out on the home, after its residents flee inside, smashing windows, firstly on the home and then on a car.
But while the violence is occurring what appears to be a child’s voice can be heard yelling “Get em!” — later another voice calls out “Get her” and “why don’t you jump in” when the fights in front of the home start.
It is when the women start to leave the property they turn their attention to the car, smashing in windows with a broom. Again, a child’s voice is heard urging them to carry out the act.
Nine News reported the person who posted the video linked the attack to the Melbourne gang Apex, which reportedly has links to the Aces gang accused of recruiting young girls.
Youth workers told the Herald Sun there are now a record number of girl gangs, teenage members of which are being charged with robberies, assaults and weapons offences.
Last week Victoria Police Minister Lisa Neville denied there was an issue with girl gangs.
“This story is about a couple of incidences before the courts at the moment so I can go into those, but at this point there is no systemic issues in relation to girls gangs,” she told 3AW.
“But what we are conscious of is making sure we are continuing to invest in young people early to prevent them getting into crime.”
