Murder charge laid after Thomastown stabbing
Detectives have charged a man with murder four months after a fatal stabbing during what police will allege was a burglary.
Melbourne police have charged a man with murder following an alleged aggravated burglary.
The incident happened in the northern suburb of Thomastown in July.
Two men have been charged in relation to the incident in which a man died of stab wounds.
On July 11 at a house on Victoria Drive, Thomastown, two men allegedly broke in.
A 36-year-old man from the suburb of Doreen was fatally stabbed and died at the scene.
A 43-year-old Lalor man was initially charged with aggravated burglary, common law assault and theft in the days after.
However, he was charged with murder in the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on Friday.
A 45-year-old Glenroy man was also arrested shortly after the incident and faces charges of aggravated burglary – person present, theft and common law assault.
Police will allege in court the people knew each other.
